Welcome to Embster
Embster provides an easy to use access to the sequence analysis tools listed below. To get started please see the tutorial. If you would like to analyze microarray or next generation sequencing data, please use Chipster.
- EMBOSS
- BLAST, including the possibility to use one's own databases
- MAFFT
- HMMER3
- ClustalW (via the EMMA wrapper)
- Phylip (via the EMBASSY package)
- Possibility to import data from EMBL, UniProt, PDB and Ensembl
Embster allows you to save analysis sessions and automatic workflows for later use. The client software is a Java Web Start application, which installs itself automatically on user's computer and sends analysis jobs to computing servers. Finnish university researchers can use their normal CSC user account to launch Embster (application form). Short term evaluation accounts are available for others by contacting us.
